ACT Contemporary Theatre

ACT Contemporary Theatre is a leading arts organization based in Seattle, WA, known for producing bold, thought-provoking contemporary works. Founded in 1965, it champions new voices and innovative storytelling that reflect the diverse spirit of the region. Housed in a historic downtown venue, ACT fosters connection between artists and audiences through engaging performances and community-centered programming. They needed a visual identity that captured its bold and creative spirit.

I designed a logo that highlights the “C” nestled between an expressive “A” and an angled “T,” creating a sense of tension and balance. The customized type mirrors the icon’s sharp angles, forming a cohesive and distinctive logo system. From there, the broader design system extends these principles into a dynamic visual language that is flexible, expressive, and full of possibility.
